Oyster Stew Recipe




Almost every cook in the south has their own method for making oyster stew. But in most cases the simpler you keep your oyster stew recipe the better off you will be. When it comes to oyster stew simpler is always better

Oyster Stew Ingredients


1. One Half Cup Butter


2. One Quart Oysters With Their Juices.


3. Two Quarts Half And Half Cream.


4. One Teaspoon Ground Sea Salt.


5. One Teaspoon Ground White Pepper.


6. One Tablespoon Fresh Fine Diced Basil.


Instructions For Your Oyster Stew


Melt your butter in a large sauce pan. Add the oysters and their juices and saute for about three to four minutes until the edges begin to curl.


Add your half and half, salt and pepper. Heat until near boiling but not quite.


Turn down to a low simmer and stir your fresh diced basil into the oyster stew.


And you just made some of the best oyster stew you'll ever eat. Serve with your favorite crackers, ketchup and hot sauce. I guarantee you this is one of the best oyster stews you'll ever eat.
